Education

The club provides a variety of programs year-round, ranging from beginner rides to essential bike maintenance and safety training.

The Beginner's Road Ride

This ride, which typically starts at the Velodrome on a Monday evening during the riding season, caters to individuals who are new to group riding, or who prefer a more relaxed pace. A typical ride will comprise approximately 15 miles at an average of about 13 mph. The main emphasis is on safety, cycling etiquette, effective communication, and mastering essential bike handling skills.

Bike Handling Skills Class

A free class for all current club members will address all aspects of bike handling, including bike setup, balance, braking, cornering, side-by-side riding, and more. A variety of on-the-bike activities are aimed at teaching new skills or improving your existing skills.  You will also learn how to improve these skills on your own, with short practice exercises before after a ride.  Included are fun activities to show you the benefits of doing it properly.

This class will be scheduled periodically on the LVCC Meetup calendar.
